I have finally decided on a 'theme' for Oliver's room and
apparently my timing is coincidental. I won't really be able to decorate until after the rest of the house is done and we get to move out bed out of what will be his room, BUT I have actually made a decision.
I found a poster of Goodnight Moon and I'll have it framed... it is the main piece. Then I thought I'd put things from the book on the walls, either pictures of them (painted, or framed, or...) or make them into some sort of activity. For the mittens, put wooden mittens on the wall that a toddler could stick his hand in. Maybe paint "hush hush" on the rocker for the old woman who says, "Hush, hush." That sort of thing. I'll start collecting ideas and things to use in the room now and be all set when the rest of the house is done. And hopefully my sister-in-law will have lots of ideas to help me when she visits in December (maybe, I hope, I'd love to see her then!).
So far I have the poster, and the hardback book, and the board book. I think I might take apart the board book as labels on the wall items. Any cool ideas? Here's the
story for idea fodder... and I found
coloring pages I could use as stencils on the walls.
